Question: Where is Alpine, and where is East Port Marina?

Answer: Alpine is located in Tennessee, just off HWY 52, between Jamestown and Livingston. 15 miles in either direction. Click Directions to East Port to find the directions that suit your needs. You can also contact us if you need further assistance. We are located on the East Fork and West Fork of the Obey River. There is a map of Dale Hollow you can view here.

Question: How do I send my deposit, and is it refundable, if I cancel?

Answer: You can mail your check or money order to 5652 East Port Road, Alpine, TN 38543, or you can call in a VISA, MasterCard or Discover, to our toll free line 1-800-736-7951. Your deposit is expected at the time you place your reservation, but you have 7-10 days to mail, from the date you place your reservation. Cancellation policy is ALL Deposit is applied to future reservations only, so please only make your reservation if you KNOW you are coming to stay with us.

Question: Do you keep my deposit, or do I get this back?

Answer: No, your deposit holds your reservation, and is our guarantee that you will be our guest. Your deposit is applied to your bill at check-in. So, if you are renting a houseboat, and your deposit amount is $700.00, then we charge you for the rental, and tax, then credit you as having already paid $700.00!

Question: Can I bring my pet, he is part of the family too?

Answer: We love animals too, and of course your pet is welcome, but only in our economy cabins. We do require a pet deposit of $100.00 which is nonrefundable. This is to cover additional cleaning costs.

Question: Are there any hidden fees, like for extra guests, etc.?

Answer: No, we accommodate and list each cabin and houseboat with every size bed, sleeper sofa, rollaway, etc. We charge a daily or weekly rate on cabins, and nothing extra for more guests. We want you to enjoy your vacation! However, there are Coast Guard regulations for Houseboats, and restrictions as to the number of guests can sleep per boat. We do list the max number of guests the boats accommodate.

Question: Is there a charge for using my credit card?

Answer: Yes, there is a 3% Reservation Handling Fee for using your Visa,MasterCard or Discover, charged upon arrival.

Question: What kind of fishing can I do down there?

Answer: We offer Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, Large Mouth Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Stripe Bass, Muskie, Kentucky Bass, Bluegill, and Carp. You can purchase your fishing license at the marina, and we also sell bait. You can click on our fishing info link to find out more about Dale Hollow Lakes Fishing. If you are a serious fisherman, or want to bring the kids down for some memories, come down in the spring or fall, as the Walleye spawn down the East Fork in the Spring, as well as the crappie and bass. Fish have been tagged and placed at the dam, and walleye notoriously run the river. Check out Fishing Tales for some pics from past guests!

Question: Beer, can I buy some or is it strictly BYOB?

Answer: Pickett County is a Dry County, however we do sell beer Monday through Saturday. There are no liquor sales in our area.

Question: What is your tax rate?

Answer: As of this update, our tax rate is 9.75%.

Question: Can I buy groceries from you, or do I need to purchase elsewhere?

Answer: You can stop in Celina, Byrdstown, or Livingston, depending on your route. These towns offer grocery stores, and drug stores. Otherwise Jamestown offers a Wal-Mart Supercenter 15 miles east of East Port via HWY 52.

Question: Is there daily maid service, and are towels provided?

Answer: No, your cabin or houseboat is serviced and cleaned prior to your arrival, and all of your pillows and linens are provided. Your dish rags, dish towels, dish/dish washer liquid, toilet paper, garbage bags and receptacles, are provided. You need to provide your swimming and bathing towels, as well as your personal toiletries. Some cabins offer washer and dryer, but you need to provide your own laundry soap and dryer sheets.

Question: Is there a phone in my cabin?

Answer: No, our cabins do not offer telephone or Internet access, there is a public pay phone located in the parking lot of the marina. Your cell phone is welcome, but signals may be interrupted in lower areas.

Question: Are your cabins on the water?

Answer: The only thing floatin' here is our restaurant, gas pumps and our boats. We offer cabins at the marina with lake views, and a short walk to the marina or Lake. We have provided the views your cabin offers on our cabin page. We do offer premier log homes, with breathtaking views of Dale Hollow.

Question: Do you offer slips for my boat, and parking for my auto and trailer?

Answer: Yes, slips are $15.00 per night-or $50-$70 per week depending on the season and you can park your car and trailer at your cabin. If you are houseboating, you can park your car and trailer.

Question: Is there a fee for launching my boat?

Answer: No, but there are no wake zones around the marina.

Question: I want to rent a ski-boat, do I need to bring my own skis and vest?

Answer: We provide one pair of skis, and one vest, adult size. You can also purchase a tube or bring your own!

Question: What is there to do in Pickett County?

Answer: When vacationing at East Port you are at a central location to visit Pickett, Fentress and Overton County. You can white water raft at Big South Fork, Hike Pickett State Park, Visit Cordell Hull Birthplace & Museum State Park ( Father of United Nations) and Hike to Bunkum Cave, Antique Shopping in Livingston and Byrdstown, Tour TN's oldest Winery, ATV Trails, Horse Trails, Civil War History, and much more!
